4th General Assembly meeting in Bucharest, Romenia

Meeting brought together 40+ partners to discuss the next steps of AI development.

On September 10th and 11th, the 4th ENFIELD General Assembly brought together more than forty partners from various countries to discuss the next steps in the development of AI and its forward-thinking impacts through the network of excellence. 

The meeting, that took place at Bucharest, began with the Project Coordinator Pankaj Pandey and Technical Coordinator Georgios Spathoulas from Norges teknisk-naturvitenskapelige universitet (NTNU) sharing valuable insights and guidance for the upcoming stages.

It was held discussions on Research Excellence and Open Calls Management with partners including SINTEF, INOVA+, Gruppo Maggioli, IMT Atlantique, Eindhoven University of Technology, Budapest University of Technology and Economics and Universitatea POLITEHNICA din București covering topics of scientific progress in AI, addressing key challenges hampering its deployment, with a particular emphasis on systems engineering.

The second (and final) day contemplated insightful discussions on societal relevance, common vision and roadmaps, innovation and exploitation, cooperation & expansion led by INESC TEC, Universitatea POLITEHNICA din București, Gruppo Maggioli and INOVA+. The 4th ENFIELD General Assembly was an outstanding opportunity to gather leading experts and Centres of Excellence to discuss pressing challenges in AI related to sustainability, human-centric and trustworthy within Academia, Industry and research institutions.
