2nd Human-Centric AI Workshop

The second Human- Centric AI workshop took place at Eindhoven University of Technology on September 12, 2024. This event combined internal research presentations with a public session to showcase ENFIELD results.

In the morning, we had presentations on evolving expert systems for the energy sector by Ricardo Jorge Bessa (INESC TEC), a human-centric evaluation framework for human-AI co-writing systems by Chao Zhang (TU/e), user trust in AI and XAI by Jeriek Paul van den Abeele (Telenor), and hypermedia-based agents using foundational models and knowledge exchange to create personalized plans by Alexandru Sorici (UPB). In the afternoon, together with the Eindhoven AI Systems Institute (EAISI), we organized a public event that featured keynotes from the consortium and other researchers at TU/e.

This session aimed to connect the ENFIELD research project with interested participants and other researchers in the Netherlands, attracting about 60 participants.

Keynotes included new explainability methods by Isel Grau Garcia (TU/e + ENFIELD + EAISI), the intersection between human-centric AI and medicine by Adina Magda Florea (UPB + ENFIELD), understanding and trusting sequential decision-making AI by Hendrik Baier (TU/e + EAISI), and trusting AI from game-play to critical care by Chris Snijders (TU/e + EAISI). The event concluded with networking and drinks.
